In an endeavor to assess and enhance skill development initiatives, a distinguished team from ITC Limited, comprising Mr. Subhendu Dash – Senior Program Manager, and Mr. Pamish Kumar – Senior Program Officer, embarked on an official visit to the Don Bosco Tech Srinagar center on the 4th and 5th of March 2024. The visit aimed to meticulously evaluate the center's operations, infrastructure, placement activities, and engage with candidates trained and placed during the 2021-22 financial year, reflecting a commitment to fostering quality education and skill enhancement.

Upon arrival, the team was greeted by an impressive infrastructure at the Don Bosco Tech Srinagar center. The well-maintained building, classrooms, and practical training rooms stood as a testament to the institution's dedication to providing a conducive environment for learning and skill development.

The first day of the visit witnessed engaging interactions between the ITC team and the current batch of trainees. These interactions, spanning both theoretical and practical sessions within the IT lab, provided valuable insights into the training methodologies and candidate engagement strategies employed at the center. Subsequent discussions with candidates trained and placed during the previous financial year fostered a collaborative atmosphere and offered external validation for the candidates' achievements.

Continuing their efforts on the second day, the team reached out to over 100 candidates trained and placed during the 2021-22 financial year through telephone conversations. These interactions aimed to gather comprehensive feedback on various aspects of their training and placement experiences, facilitating a holistic assessment of the center's performance. Furthermore, visits to several employers, including Access Infrastructure – Sonawar, Srinagar, provided valuable insights into the performance of placed candidates and the relevance of the training curriculum, particularly in the CRE-Domestic Voice trade.

During discussions, Mr. Pamish Kumar emphasized the importance of enhancing the placement ratio, setting a target of placing more than 100 candidates by the end of the month. Additionally, the team highlighted an upcoming impact study by a third-party agency, focusing on selected candidates trained and placed during the 2021-22 financial year through online methodologies.

In conclusion, the official visit to the Don Bosco Tech Srinagar center proved to be an enriching experience, offering valuable insights and recommendations for further improvement. The collaborative efforts between Don Bosco Tech and ITC Limited underscored a shared commitment to empowering individuals through skill development and employment opportunities, thereby contributing to the socio-economic growth of the region.
